Mix and match jewellry

I have a friend who runs a jewellry making business as a sideline. I love to see her different ideas and I've had the benefit of several lovely necklaces and pairs of earrings.
The thing that I like the most about this is that each piece is unique. I know that when I buy something from my friend that no one else will have something that is exactly the same.
The other thing I like is that I can choose things that go with my clothes. I like to pick a necklace from my collection and then build an outfit around it. I can choose a colour from one of the beads and then wear clothes that either complement or contrast with the necklace.
I had a moderately expensive necklace that I really loved. My 2 year old granddaughter got hold of it and broke the string. Thankfully we managed to pick up all the beads and my friend restrung it for me. I had a photo of the necklace that she worked from. It's not quite as nice as the original string but at least I can still wear it.
The main problem that I have is that I am always drawn to the same type of necklace. So my challenge to myself is that the next one I buy from my friend will be something completely different. I'm going to take my new dress to my friend's house and have something special made to go with it.
