Amazonite Earrings
About This Design
Time: Approximately 15-20 minutes
Level of Difficulty: Beginner - All Levels (some wire
wrapping knowledge)
Cost: Varies, depending on materials selected. Approximately $10-
15 as shown.
These earrings feature aqua amazonite beads with gold and silver
accents. I've hung them from large curved french hooks for a
contemporary design.
Want to make these earrings, or a variation for yourself? Let's get started!
Step 1
Gather your supplies:
- 2 amazonite beads. I used square amazonite beads, but any beads
that you like will do fine.
- 2 blue seed beads. I used turquoise glass seed beads.
- 4 silver spacer beads. I used Bali daisy spacers.
- 6 gold toned spacer beads. I used small gold nugget spacers.
- 2 sterling silver head pins (fine enough gauge to fit through bead
holes).
- Length of sterling silver wire (24 gauge).
- 2 earwires, french hooks, leverbacks or posts (your choice) I
used wide curved sterling silver french hook ear wires in my design

Step 2
Slide beads onto head pin to create lower half of earring.
Slide each bead onto a headpin, and make a closed wire loop at the
top. I
did my beads in this order:
- Seed bead
- Gold spacer bead
- Silver spacer bead
- Amazonite bead
- Silver spacer bead
- Gold spacer bead
If
you need help learning to make a loop, follow these instructions.
Step 3
Make the top part of earring and attach to earring
components.
Cut a length of silver wire, and using round nose pliers, make a
loop. Slide the component you created in the last step onto the
loop, then close the loop. This fastens the lower half of the
earring to the top part. You will have a stem of wire at the top. Slide
a gold spacer bead onto the wire, and then make a closed wire loop at the
top, attaching the wire to the earring component before closing it.
Repeat for second earring.
That's it! Your pretty amazonite earrings earrings are ready to
wear!
